Farmhouse Style Lake House

Designed by SC Architecture, this 6,400-square-foot under roof custom lake house is located in a gated community in Mabank, TX. The homeowners wanted a place for their family to gather and enjoy the lake. Every bedroom has a lake view, and the home includes an upstairs living room with oversized windows and a glass-enclosed porch off the primary suite.

The home's gathering spaces extend outdoors to a large back porch with a firepit and a path leading to a custom two-level boat dock. Inside, the kitchen offers abundant cabinetry and a generous walk-in pantry. A dedicated workout room featuring a glass overhead door facing the lake, while the oversized garage has room for two large vehicles, a full-size side-by-side, and other lake gear.

The elevation dropped eight feet from front to back, so site preparation and foundation work were key challenges. Pilot brought in 125 loads of select fill, installed piers, and built a post-tensioned concrete foundation for long-term stability. The home was completed in seven months on a very tight construction schedule.
